Donor mapping for aid effectiveness and food security

gppi logo“Are there single programming documents for each recipient country, marking the responsibilities and financial contributions of all involved donors? Surprisingly, no.” – Gaus, 2012. This new Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) research paper calls for improved communication and collaboration in international aid delivery. It identifies instances of successful coordination but also significant fragmentation and gaps in the work of influential donor institutions by mapping and comparing the approaches of the top four European donors: the European Commission, France, Germany and the UK. Only by addressing these important inefficiencies can the benefits of donor organisations’ efforts towards a food secure world be maximised.
