The Platform’s Annual Report 2009 represents the outcome of our collective efforts towards Millennium Development Goal n.1. It provides a comprehensive overview of activities, developments and achievements of the Platform during the last year.
The report consists of two complementary sections:

Diverse strengths outlines Platform member organisations’ activities and achievements in agriculture and rural development in 2009.
Given the range of publications released and events held by Platform members in 2009, several could not be included in the report itself. The Annual Report 09 hompage offers a more complete list, with links to the relevant sources.

Disponer de la capacidad para dar seguimiento a los resultados de una actividad y utilizar el conocimiento adquirido para comprender lo que funciona y lo que no, o qué hacer para que las cosas marchen mejor, es lo que hace del Monitoreo y la Evaluación (M&E) una poderosa herramienta para mejorar los procesos y resultados de desarrollo. En 2006, la Plataforma Mundial de Donantes para el Desarrollo Rural (GDPRD, por sus siglas en inglés) y el Banco Mundial se comprometieron a elaborar este Libro de Consulta en colaboración con la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO). El Libro de Consulta crea un marco para la estandarización de los enfoques para la selección de indicadores y propone un menú de indicadores básicos para el monitoreo y evaluación de las actividades relacionadas con la agricultura y el desarrollo rural (ADR). El objetivo es, en última instancia, mejorar la calidad del monitoreo y evaluación de los programas de agricultura y desarrollo rural a nivel nacional y global.

La capacité de tracer les résultats et d’utiliser ce savoir pour apprendre ce qui fonctionne et ce qui ne fonctionne pas – ou comment faire en sorte que les choses fonctionnent mieux – fait du suivi et de l’évaluation (S&E) un outil puissant pour améliorer les processus et retombées du développement. En 2006, la Plate-forme mondiale des bailleurs de fonds pour le développement rural (GDPRD) et la Banque mondiale ont mis en chantier la préparation de ce recueil en collaboration avec l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO). Le recueil crée un cadre qui permet de standardiser les méthodes de sélection des indicateurs et propose une liste d’indicateurs de base pour assurer le suivi et l’évaluation des activités du secteur de l’agriculture et du développement rural (ADR). Sa finalité est d’améliorer la qualité du suivi et de l’évaluation des programmes d’agriculture et de développement rural aux niveaux national et mondial.
