Invitation to GDPRD 'H&A workshop' in Nicaragua, June 8, 2005 (in spanish)
Written/Published in 2005 by Ministry of Agriculture and Forestries / Nicaragua

Extract

The GDPRD seeks to improve and intensify donor co-ordination in rural development.
The objective is to increase effectiveness of rural development efforts through efficient donor collaboration and improved dialogue with partner countries, on the basis of locally owned planning processes such as PRSs.
As an initial step towards increased effectiveness, the GDPRD has commissioned an assessment study on the state-of-the-art in harmonisation & alignment in rural development in four pilot countries, including Nicaragua.

Based on these efforts by the GDPRD, representatives of the Nicaraguan Ministry of Commerce (Mific) as well as the Nicaraguan Ministry of Agriculture and Forestries (Magfor) have expressed their strong interest in engaging together with the GDPRD into translating the Harmonisation & Alignment agenda into action in the rural sector in Nicaragua.
The expected outcome of the workshop is to endorse a joint action plan between government, donors, private sector and GDPRD to achieve this goal.
