The last WDR on agriculture was published in 1982 with a more focused follow-up treatment of agricultural pricing and trade policies in 1986.

Today, the world of agriculture has been revolutionized compared to what it was in 1982, creating a whole new set of conditions for agriculture and its role in development. These conditions offer new opportunities and new hurdles for both increasing growth and reducing poverty.
