Agriculture may have become a minor player in many industrialized economies, but it must play a starring role on the world stage if we are to bring down the curtain on hunger. Today in much of the world agriculture is struggling, starved of much-needed investment. The topic of this issues paper is how to restore, energize and build up agriculture through input of resources, both public and private. More specifically, through targeted public investment to encourage and facilitate private investment, especially by farmers themselves.
