As a continuation to the LAMDP preparatory process and the facilitation services offered by the Platform, Klaus Talvela, the International Facilitator (IF) of the Platform in Cambodia, undertook a mission to Phnom Penh from December 8 through 15, 2006. IF was accompanied by Ms. Miriam Heidtmann of the Platform Secretariat from December 10 to 14. The newly recruited National Facilitator (NF) Mr. Piseth Long participated during the whole mission. This document is the mission report. It summarises the implemented and planned actions during the last months of 2006.
The objectives set to the mission were as follows:
- Further elaboration of the Code of Conduct.
- Preparation of the sector strategy status assessment.
- Initiation of the national facilitator and definition of his role in the PBA/LAMDP process.
- Training workshop in principles and methods of PBA/SP for MLMUPC/CLP and DPs.
Key activities of the mission comprised:
- PBA/LAMDP Task Force meeting on December 12. NF took minutes of the meeting and they are annexed to this report
- Training workshop in principles and methods of PBA/SP for MLMUPC/CLP and DP key persons in Siem Reap on December 13 and 14. Workshop’s programme and its evaluation by the participants are annexed to this report.
- Meetings with RGC representatives and development partners.
