Extract
The proposal for collaboration within the CAADP implementation process follows up on a series of consultations between the NEPAD Secretariat, IFPRI, and several development partners under the leadership of DFID, SIDA, and USAID.
It addresses the implementation of the CAADP agenda at the regional and country level, in particular the need to provide capacity building support to regional economic communities (RECs) and technical assistance to the NEPAD Secretariat.
CAADP is a high level African initiative launched by NEPAD in the recognition of the decisive role Agriculture and rural development play for fighting poverty on the African continent.
The proposal consists of three main parts: 1. Technical Assistance to the NEPAD Secretariat 2. Capacity Building Support for Regional Economic Communities 3. Establishment of Regional Strategy and Knowledge Support Systems |
