Written/Published in 2007 by No specific author

Extract

In order to upgrade the local goats, the high quality Kenya Alpine buck has been introduced to the region, parallel with training courses on goat rearing. Combined with training courses on dairy goat rearing and organization and management techniques, the project has led to increased goat milk production, improved crop yields (through goat manure), better use of waste, increased value of the upgraded stock, as well as improved socio-economic status and cohesion.
