The project, in close cooperation with national programmes, implemented activities to secure land tenure for the target group. It developed possibilities of income generation through afforestation with site-matching native species on unproductive land and generated of competitive small and medium enterprises for tending, harvesting, processing and marketing of forest and non-forest products. Direct economic support has been provided through innovative financing mechanisms. |
