Extract
The project followed a two-fold approach: promoting value chains based on biodiversity linking communities and companies in business-partnerships, and promoting the diversification of community income and business opportunities to prevent undesired dependence risks for the communities. Overall, the most important impacts are environmental benefits through the promotion of sustainable resource management. In a pilot phase (2007) the project intends to promote six business initiatives marketing 10 new products with an expected increase of household incomes (up to 200 families) of at least 30%. |
