USAID, together with the Global Donor Platform, is organizing a CAADP Donors Meeting in Geneva on 15 – 16 November.
The objectives of the meeting will be:
- Elaborate concrete actions that can and need to be taken to implement CAADP efforts and investments.
- Report about the status of CAADP implementation, including roles and responsibilities of lead African organizations, at country and regional level.
- Work out activities for donor coordination including identification of lead donors for priority countries where CAADP country processes are being initiated.
- Setting the frame for the December 4 & 5 Platform Meeting in Washington D.C.
Direct output shall include a donor agreement on a priority set of actions and activities to jointly support the current CAADP process. Participants will include NEPAD Secretariat, AU, RECs, Donors, Foundations and major international and UN organizations.
This First Donor Consultation on CAADP is moving to shape better donor coordination in rural development and agriculture in Africa. The meeting will give the chance to share donor information and contact points for CAADP, as well as establish joint CAADP support effort through the Global Donor Platform. |
