COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) will hold its first meeting of the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) for Focal Point persons in Lusaka, Zambia, on 28th – 29th August 2006.
The meeting, to be held in collaboration with the NEPAD Secretariat is being convened to discuss the following:
(i) Status of COMESA Regional CAADP Compact design and implementation;
(ii) Activities leading to the launch of the Rwanda CAADP Roundtable;
(iii) Activities leading to the launch of CAADP in the rest of COMESA;
(iv) The role of CAADP focal points;
(v) Actions to quicken CAADP implementation in COMESA and
(vi) Modalities for up scaling proven agricultural technologies.
