The meeting in a nutshell

The Third CAADP-Sirte Partnership Platform (PP) Meeting, organised/hosted by COMESA together with the Agricultural Unit of the NEPAD Secretariat and the Department for Rural Economy and Agriculture (DREA) of the African Union Commission, is expected to review progress made with implementing CAADP since the Second PP meeting in September 2007. In addition, the Meeting is expected to identify key issues that needed to be addressed in order to hasten the pace of CAADP implementation. It is envisaged that the meeting will be attended by a range of stakeholders including senior experts of agriculture from AU member states, regional economic communities, farmers' organisations from across Africa, other civil society organisations,  CAADP Pillar Lead Institutions, Africa-based and overseas academic and research institutions, bilateral and multilateral donors, and private foundations and networks provding support to agriculture in Africa.
