Regarding the upcoming CAADP Partnership Platform Meeting in Addis September 25-28: Under the leadership of the AUC, some important agreements were taken to organize the event, namely the establishment of two Task Forces: one to establish a joint Evaluation Framework with AUC, NEPAD, APF Secretariat and development partners, the other on Terms of Reference for the CAADP PP.

Definition: The CAADP PP under the leadership of the AUC is regarded as an important instrument to facilitate a common understanding on the progress of the CAADP implementation as the African framework for the realization of the African Heads of States and Governments' defined vision for an African Agricultural -led growth and food security.

Task Force Terms of Reference CAADP PP:
Last year´s PP Meeting in September initiated the Terms of Reference for the PP meeting. A small Task Force is now to be initiated to finalize expected outcomes and ToRs for the meeting. The Task Force currently comprises: AUC, NEPAD, WB, DFID, SIDA, Donor Platform Secretariat.
The role of the Donor Platform in this respect is to consolidate the views and expectations of the development partners with regards to the PP. Development partners were invited to send any comments and recommendations to the DRAFT CAADP PP ToRs  until August 17. After that, we will consolidate the comments and pass it to the Task Force so that consolidated and agreed final ToRs will be available before the meeting.

Task Force Joint CAADP Evaluation Framework:
The next Africa Partnership Forum Report to be published in October 2007, will (again) feature agriculture. The APF Support Unit is currently drafting the first version of the report. While the format for evaluation will certainly follow the same procedure as last´s years, there is the opportunity to discuss the indicators to define "what is red, orange and green". The APF Support Unit under lead of Director David Batt and person in charge Doreen Kibuka-Musoke will arrange for a consultative phase for commenting the first draft and participating in a Task Force on a joint CAADP Evaluation Framework.
A first meeting with AUC, NEPAD, pillar leads, APF SU and development partners will aim to meet on August 29 during the AGRA conference in Oslo. Following the writing phase of the report, the first draft for commenting will be available before the upcoming CAADP PP in September.
