The Secretariat is the principal service and management unit of the Platform. It manages the Platform partnership relations and guarantees transparent communications with and between all Platform Member and Associate Member Organisations and Focal Points.
The Secretariat supports the main organs of the Platform, the Board and the Steering Committee, and bears the primary responsibility for ensuring that Board decisions are carried out.
In particular, it works to increase overall understanding of harmonisation and alignment (H&A) and increasingly provides analytical competency for policy formulation and dialogue around issues of H&A in agriculture and rural development. The Secretariat supervises and guides the activities agreed upon by the Board and outlined in the annual work plan, as well as makes the link to already ongoing initiatives which might complement the work. Using the active Platform network, it disseminates knowledge to provide the basis for informed decision-making and to provide insights to H&A bottlenecks as a global public good.

Sonja is in charge of coordinating and managing all the agreed-upon Platform activities. This includes facilitating the conceptual and strategic development of the Platform, financial management and annual reporting, launching of new activities and being the main contact point for our FPs, SC and the general public.

Daniel Gerecke
Aid Effectiveness and Communications
Daniel's main tasks centre on the Platform's aid effectiveness agenda, on backstopping Platform publications and managing its website.

Ada supports the Secretariat in its designated tasks and ensures a smooth communication, organisation of meetings and efficient network management.

Christoph Langenkamp
Task Leader Agricultural and Rural Policy
Christoph provides policy advice in the area of harmonisation processes and on selected issues in A&RD (e.g. the Platform Hot Topics). He will further develop our JDRC and provides quality assurance to Platform products.

Julia works 12 hours per week supporting the Secretariat in all organisational and administrative matters.

Yihenew Zewdie
Task Leader CAADP
Yihenew assists Platform Members and further development partners (DP) to engage more effectivley in supporting CAADP as an Africa-led agenda on agriculture. His main task centres around streamlining CAADP-related communications and knowldge-sharing among DP and between DP and pertinent African institutions.
