Germany's Christoph Kohlmeyer and FAO's Mike Wales share new leadership.

The Board of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development, the organisation's new supreme governing body, elected Christoph Kohlmeyer (BMZ) as Chairman and Mike Wales (FAO) as Vice-Chairman at a special meeting in Paris on December 14, 2007.

The Platform Board is the new central decision-making body of the Platform. It comprises all full paying members of the Platform and elects the Steering Committee.

Christoph Kohlmeyer will now serve as Chairman of the Board while Michael Wales takes over as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee now consists of FAO’s Michael Wales, Mushtaq Ahmed (CIDA), John Barrett (DFID), Marc Debois (EC DG-DEV), Florence Lasbennes (Foreign Ministry of France) and Nwanze Okidegbe (World Bank).
