Who are the YARDs
YARDs are a selected group of young women and men between 20 and 30 years old who come from a rural background and have an original, direct perspective of the situation in rural areas. They come from Europe, East and West, and partner countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America and represent rural social networks, rural youth movements, young farmers associations and youth departments of farmers associations, young agricultural researchers networks etc.
All of them are strongly committed to developing their rural surroundings. They might be the future leaders, researchers, farmers’ representatives, speakers of rural networks or political decision-makers. The YARDs actively strive to influence and improve the situation in rural areas through their involvement in national organisations and internationally through the YARDs network.
