Our eForum on “Rural Economic and Enterprise Development – REED” took place from May 29 to June 30, 2006, dealing with strategic issues, experiences with tools and instruments for implementation and future challenges and opportunities of economic and enterprise development in rural areas. The contributions of the participants exhibited great interest in these topics.
However, we (GTZ, SDC and GDPRD) have to conclude that an eForum in this form does not seem to be the adequate and appropriate instrument for the intended discussion as written communication is often simply too time consuming for many potential participants. Thus, we will assess the implementation of the eForum and aim to identify more appropriate methods and instruments to continue the initiated debate.
