The Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA) of the CGIAR is organising a one-day pre-conference workshop on impact assessment in agricultural research on the margins of a broader conference of the IAAE in Iguazu, Brazil on Saturday, 18 August 2012. The workshop will focus on innovations in impact assessment of agricultural research – theory and practice.

To enhance the community of practice around ex post and ex ante impact assessment through presentation and discussion of state of the art measures for assessment of agricultural research at national and international levels.
// Call for Papers - Platform research working group invited to present a lead paper
The Platform working group on agricultural research has been invited to develop and present a paper at a main workshop session on User perspectives: how donors utilize impact assessment information.
SPIA is calling for concept note submissions from scientists from the CGIAR, advanced research institutions and National Agricultural Research Systems in developing countries. Papers should relate to impact assesssment studies or analytical reviews that are due to be completed by June 2012, to allow for presentaion of results in the workshop in Brazil.
