The World Export Development Forum (WEDF), held under the theme "Trade and Invest in One Africa", will bring together over 1000 business leaders, policymakers and trade development officials to address international business competitiveness issues and profile international investment in Ethiopia. Co-hosted by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ethiopia, this year’s World Export Development Forum will take place at the African Union headquarters in conjunction with the Africa Industrialization Week.
The sessions for the 2019 WEDF are designed to help business make the most of the newly-ratified African Continental Free Trade Agreement by including a wide range of topics such as value addition, addressing the skills mismatch, sustainable packaging and more. The event will put the accent on women and youth through a SheTrades Global event and a YES! Forum – a unique platform for youth entrepreneurship and self-employment. A business-to-business matchmaking platform will offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to forge new business deals in agribusiness. Stay tuned for numerous other side events, as well as for the SME Trade Academy, which will introduce online courses to do business across borders.
