Donor Roundtable on Rural women and girls

This meeting is an opportunity for members of the Platform attending the CSW to network and exchange knowledge about their strategies and approaches to gender equality and empowering rural women and girls.  Discussions will touch on both policy and field level interventions, with a focus on collaborating on the ground (what mix of partners and roles?), as well as addressing agriculture as an entry point to gender equality.
During this meeting, the results of the study commissioned by the Platforms gender group on ‘Women’s Economic Empowerment and Agribusiness; Opportunities for the Gender Transformative Agenda’ will be presented.
The event will take place at the FAO UN Liaison Offices, New York City (UN Plaza) in Room DC1-1945  DC1 (1 UN Plaza), Suite 1945 (19th Floor) on 15 March 2018, 9.00 am. – 11.00 am.

  2. Challenges and opportunities of partnering on the ground in the context of empowering rural women and girls - What combination of partners and roles?
  3. Women’s empowerment in donor funded agribusiness initiatives - summary of the outcomes of the gender work stream’s 2017 priority area
