This fourth report highlights the progress made by the EU and its Member States towards implementing their common policy commitments on food and nutrition security. The report focuses on the main policy developments, analyses the financial trends in disbursements and the evaluation of policy priorities. It also highlights the results and progress achieved by the EU and its Member States on the two thematic focus areas identified by the Council in 2018:

  1. Women’s empowerment for food security and nutrition and
  2. Rural employment creation.

It concludes by highlighting the importance of eight policy orientations. Examples are included throughout the report on how the EU and its Member States have stepped up their action on food and nutrition security and sustainable agriculture.

This report is accompanied by a Commission staff working document (SWD) with further information on the analysis and case studies.
