The 2026 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will take place on 27 January 2026 at the UN Headquarters in New York under the theme “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all”.
The Forum will give particular attention to the Sustainable Development Goals selected for in-depth review at the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF): Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
In line with resolution 75/290A, the Partnership Forum will center on the exchange of new ideas, expectations, and priorities for the upcoming ECOSOC cycle and the HLPF convened under the Council’s auspices. It will showcase and examine forward-looking actions by governments and other stakeholders, with a focus on innovative partnerships designed to mobilize commitments and accelerate implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development while responding to emerging challenges. The Forum will be organized in consultation with stakeholders and will provide a space for interactive dialogue among all participants around the main theme of the Council and the HLPF.
