2021 was an eventful year for the Platform, both at an operational level within the Secretariat and with external engagement. The Platform created a new Strategic Plan for the 2021–2025 period and a results-based work plan for the year.

2019 was an important year for the Platform, as it adapted its structure and function in light of the new paradigm under Agenda 2030, which has shifted the donor landscape by changing the nature of challenges and future uncertainties for donors.

2018 was a vibrant and productive year for the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development. By facilitating direct exchange and information sharing, the Platform continued to enable members to coordinate and contribute to higher level of policy coherence.

2017 showed that donor agencies and development finance institutions need to stop thinking in silos and sectors, but rather concentrate on interconnections within and across our development strategies and programs – towards greater realignment, efficiency and more coherent delivery of outcomes and joint impact.
