The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) releases its 2024 Annual General Assembly (AGA) report, titled Financing Food Systems Transformation and Rural Revitalization: Opportunities and Challenges. The emerging messages are especially significant in light of the rapidly evolving donor environment, and underscore the urgent need to rethink the financing agenda for 2025 and beyond.

2018 was a vibrant and productive year for the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development. By facilitating direct exchange and information sharing, the Platform continued to enable members to coordinate and contribute to higher level of policy coherence.

2017 showed that donor agencies and development finance institutions need to stop thinking in silos and sectors, but rather concentrate on interconnections within and across our development strategies and programs – towards greater realignment, efficiency and more coherent delivery of outcomes and joint impact.

2013 marked the 10th anniversary of the Platform’s creation and we had many reasons to celebrate. The Platform established itself as an important convener of donors committed to tackle rural development challenges and to advance agriculture and rural development (ARD) and food and nutrition security (FNS) as part of the post-2015 development agenda.
