Financing Agrifood Systems in a Fragmented World: From coordination to catalytic influence
Read the 2025 Annual Report

In 2025, the Donor Platform strengthened its role as a strategic convener shaping the global debate on financing agrifood systems.
At a time of shrinking official development assistance, increasing geopolitical fragmentation and reforms in the international financial architecture, the Platform focused on three priorities:
- Shaping the global financing agenda ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4)
- Advancing practical approaches to blended and catalytic finance
- Strengthening donor coordination in an increasingly fragmented aid landscape
A major milestone was the launch of the White Paper “Financing Agrifood Systems for People, Planet and Prosperity”, developed by the Platform’s High-Level Advisory Group and presented at FfD4 in Spain. The process helped elevate the importance of agrifood systems investment on the global development agenda.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Platform will focus on strengthening the economic case for agrifood investments, supporting coordinated donor engagement across global processes, exploring the role of AI and data in development decision-making, and advancing practical approaches to blended finance.
As trusted spaces for donor coordination become increasingly rare — and increasingly vital — the Platform will continue to support its members in aligning priorities and advancing collective action.
