In December 2024, the Swiss Parliament adopted the International Cooperation Strategy 2025–2028, outlining Switzerland’s priorities in development and economic cooperation, humanitarian aid, and the promotion of peace and human rights.

Switzerland’s International Cooperation Strategy 2025–2028 builds on the priorities of the previous strategy while adapting to a rapidly changing global context. It focuses on saving lives, ensuring access to basic services, promoting sustainable economic growth, protecting the environment, combating climate change, and advancing peace, human rights, and democracy.

Implemented by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) of the FDFA, and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the strategy is grounded in constitutional and statutory mandates.

Guided by the needs of affected populations, Switzerland’s unique contributions, and its long-term interests, international cooperation reinforces Switzerland’s credibility and influence globally, promoting its values of rule of law, human rights, dialogue, solidarity, and humanitarian principles.
