The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development commissioned study is an analysis of the evolving framework of agriculture and rural development and food and nutrition and a review of plausible alternative global scenarios and discusses related future challenges for Agricultural Research for Development (ARD) and Food and Nutrition Security (FNS).

The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) has released a study โ€œProspects_ Agriculture and rural development in the post-2015 development frameworkโ€ which was commissioned to the Forward Thinking Platform supported by GFAR. The study starts from an analysis of the evolving framework of agriculture and rural development and food and nutrition and a review of plausible alternative global scenarios and discusses related future challenges for Agricultural Research for Development (ARD) and Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), in particular linking global transformation to local decisions. Implications for official development aid in ARD and FNS are then highlighted including strategic responses to disruptions and challenges, implications for Official Development Assistance (ODA) and working modalities, and the need to build a robust frame for development assistance to ARD and FNS. Detailed annexes are provided.
