STDF’s global partnership drives catalytic SPS improvements in developing countries and facilitates safe trade, in support of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

The Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) 2025–2030 Strategy focuses on strengthening SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary) systems and facilitating safe trade to meet global goals in alignment with the World Trade Organization (WTO) SPS Agreement. It fosters collective action for global public goods, catalysing safe trade to drive sustainable growth, food security, and climate resilience.

The Strategy highlights the STDF’s role in responding to the evolving global trade landscape and SPS requirements.

The Strategy reinforces the STDF’s four key pillars—convene, innovate, learn, and catalyse—placing a strong emphasis on innovation and scaling. It seeks to increase SPS innovation and investment in developing countries by strengthening public-public and public-private cooperation, enhancing coordination with regional SPS institutions, and fostering collaboration with the private sector.
