The road to eradicate hunger on Earth is no longer on track – however we still have several reasons for hope to exist.
The Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2) community faces a crucial time where the world is no longer on track to end hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030. This paper analyses the current fragmented architecture of the SDG2, which includes eroding public support, scattered initiatives and funding, vertical financing models, and overlapping mandates are few of them.
However, the reasons for hope also exist. The paper points out the importance of a structured, focused framework where positions are coordinated, process is properly tracked, and pivots are made to central ideas such as global development, climate, and resilience agendas.
Through this publication, the SDG2 Advocacy Hub seeks to develop a shared agenda that could be relevant to political leaders, practitioners, farmers, nutrition experts, food system actors, civil society, and other credible messengers.
