The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released preliminary official development assistance (ODA) statistics for 2023 on 11 April 2024.

In 2023, official development assistance (ODA) by member countries of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) amounted to USD 223.7 billion, representing 0.37% of DAC members’ combined GNI. This was the fifth consecutive year ODA reached a new high. The increase was primarily due to aid for Ukraine, humanitarian aid and contributions to international organizations.

The OECD’s aid statistics track official flows from DAC donors to developing countries. Preliminary ODA data are released each April. This year’s data includes details on humanitarian aid in Ukraine and elsewhere, plus ODA spent on refugees in donor countries and bilateral flows to least-developed countries and Africa. Final ODA figures with detailed geographic and sectoral breakdowns will be released at the end of the year.
