Partnerships make it possible. 2025 tested development. Here’s what UNDP delivered.

2025 was a challenging year for development. Conflicts continued, climate-related shocks intensified, and fiscal space narrowed. At the same time, development budgets faced increasing pressure, even as needs grew.

In this context, UNDP maintained its presence and operations. Across 170 countries and territories, more than 23,000 personnel worked with governments, communities, civil society and the private sector. This included supporting recovery efforts in crisis-affected areas, strengthening digital public infrastructure, assisting electoral processes, and advancing climate and environmental initiatives.

Experience continues to show that early and sustained investment in development can reduce risks, strengthen resilience and support stability. In a context of constrained resources and rising demand, UNDP will continue to work with partners to deliver development results.
