Agriculture for Development in a Changing World

| 21 May 2026 | Virtual | Zoom

21 May 2026 | 15:00 – 17.00 PM (CEST) | Online on Zoom

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) hosts an event with Tropical Agriculture Association International (TAAI) focusing on supporting agricultural development, food security, agrifood systems and poverty reduction on a drastically changing global aid landscape.

Inclusive transformation in agrifood systems is essential for food security, sustainability, and resilience. Farmer sovereignty and knowledge of smallholder farmers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) must remain at the core of agricultural transformation. This should be integrated with innovative technology, investment, and sound governance to foster a development model that is more collaborative, inclusive, local, and climate smart.

To explore the current challenges and pathways forward, this webinar will bring together panellists including IDS researchers, TAAI members and contributors to the recent 50th edition of Agriculture for Development.

Maurizio Navarra, Secretariat Coordinator of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD), will be a speaker, providing perspectives on GDPRD member priorities for agriculture for development in a changing context.
