Global Dialogue on AI Governance

6 – 7 July 2026 | Virtual

The AI Dialogue, established by the UN General Assembly and committed to in the Global Digital Compact, is a global platform designed to address the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence. Recognizing that no country can manage AI alone, the Dialogue ensures that AI governance reflects the priorities of all nations, not just the most technologically advanced. It provides an inclusive space where governments and stakeholders can share best practices and foster open, transparent cooperation so that the benefits of AI are shared globally.

The Dialogue would be streamed on UN Web TV, discussing across four proposed thematic clusters:

  • AI Opportunities and Implications: Exploring the social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic, and technical dimensions of AI.
  • Bridging AI Divides: Supporting capacity-building, facilitating access to AI applications, and promoting open-source software and open data to build digital foundations, particularly in developing countries.
  • Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy AI: Ensuring the interoperability and compatibility of global AI governance approaches.
  • Human Rights and Accountability: Promoting transparency, accountability, and robust human oversight in AI systems, in strict compliance with international law.
