Webinar: Applying AI in Agrifood Systems: RAAPID and NASA Harvest in practice

| 05 November 2026 | Virtual |

5 November 2026 | 15:00-15:45 CET

How can AI help turn agricultural data into action?

AI is rapidly transforming agrifood systems, offering new opportunities to strengthen food security, improve nutrition, and support rural development. However, donors and development partners face challenges in translating this potential into practice, including ensuring responsible data governance, addressing inequalities in access, and identifying effective entry points for investment and collaboration.

This second webinar in the Platform’s artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge exchange series explores how AI, remote sensing and local expertise can strengthen agricultural monitoring, anticipate shocks and support timely decision-making.

Using the emerging RAAPID (Rapid Agricultural Assessment for Program Impact and Design) initiative as a practical case study, speakers will examine opportunities and challenges in translating satellite-derived insights into operational responses.

The discussion will highlight country experiences, lessons learned, and opportunities for donor engagement in scaling AI-enabled agricultural monitoring for food security and climate resilience.
