High-Level Forum on Harnessing Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization and Data Governance for Food Security and Nutrition

The 2024-2027 Multi-Year Programme of Work (MYPoW) envisions a High-Level Forum (HLF) on “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization, and Data Governance for Food Security and Nutrition” for the 2026 intersessional period. This session gathers high-level speakers and technical experts to explore both the potential and risks of AI and digital technologies in agriculture. While innovations like big data analytics can enhance productivity and climate adaptation, they also introduce challenges such as data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and digital exclusion. The HLF underscores the need for inclusive, transparent, and accountable data governance, collaborating to ensure a just digital transformation that promotes people-centred food systems based on the right to adequate food.
